Sona News aims to publish clear, useful, sourced stories. We prioritise accuracy, reader value, transparent sourcing, and honest presentation over speed or volume.
Core standards
- Do not invent quotes, sources, studies, numbers, events, or expert claims.
- Use primary sources where possible and reputable secondary sources where appropriate.
- Separate confirmed facts from interpretation, practical context, and forward-looking analysis.
- Avoid misleading headlines, hidden-information clickbait, exaggerated urgency, or unsupported certainty.
- Use extra caution for health, money, safety, legal, and other high-impact topics.
- Correct material factual errors clearly and promptly when identified.
Sourcing and verification
Articles should link to or identify meaningful sources when the story relies on specific data, reports, public agencies, research, laws, product announcements, or company statements. Anonymous or weakly sourced claims should not be presented as established fact.
Where a story is based on a public document or dataset, the article should explain what was verified and avoid overstating what the document proves.
Images and visual disclosure
Sona News may use AI-assisted tools to create illustrative images. Synthetic images must not be presented as documentary photography, must not impersonate real private people, and should be representative rather than deceptive.
AI-generated article images are labelled “image AI generated”.
Conflicts, advertising, and partnerships
Editorial coverage should remain separate from advertising, sponsorship, affiliate, or commercial arrangements. Paid placements should be labelled and should not be presented as independent editorial articles.
